The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multi-purpose aircraft capable of a variety of missions. Its sheer power and maneuverability has thoroughly proven it to be a premier fighting weapon in the United States Air Force since 1979. Since Sept 11, 2001 the F-16 has been a major component of the combat forces committed to the Global War on Terrorism flying thousands of sorties. The aircraft is powered by a single engine capable of producing approximately 30,000 pounds of thrust. The aircraft has a top speed of more than twice the speed of sound. The F-16 has the reputation as the most maneuverable fighter in the world, but can also deliver bombs with deadly accuracy during non-visual bombing conditions.
Major David Graham will highlight the capabilities of the F-16 with his premier performance. The loud, “in your face” aerobatics will be combined with graceful maneuvers that will keep you looking to the skies. The combination of high and low speed maneuvering, rapid rolls, and high performance climbs and descents vividly illustrate the Fighting Falcon’s capabilities in which Major Graham knows all to well since he flew combat missions over Iraq in support of Operation Northern Watch.
After the F-16 precision performance, Major Graham will pair up Dan Friedkin for the Heritage Flight. Dan will be flying the P-51 Mustang. Dan started flying at the age of 14, and was only 20 when he was checked out in the P-51 Mustang. The Heritage Flight represents the power and strength of America-past and present as the P-51 and F-16 Fighting Falcon will fly in tight formation past the crowd. This is our reminder of the sacrifices that are required to ensure freedom for all Americans.
