Please plan to report to volunteer check in which will be at the information booth about 30 minutes prior to the beginning of your shift. If you have already signed up for a shift, please check the schedule here and confirm that we have your correct information. If you would like to make a note of the date, time and location you have singed up for, we have reminder forms available to write on. Please check out at the end of your shift with Volunteer check in so that we know that your relief arrived at your location.
When you report for your shift you will be able to exchange the coupon provided for a volunteer t-shirt. We ask that you wear this shirt whenever you are working. This will help us identify you as a volunteer. There are restrooms available in the terminal building to allow you to put on your shirt before your shift begins. Parking for volunteers is in the overflow parking area. Depending on your shift and when you arrive, there may a lot of traffic trying to enter the airport we have made arrangement for you to enter through the back gate off of Hwy 36 between the main gate and the National guard. It will have a large Exit sign to discourage the public. Please bring your wristband with you or admittance. If you have not yet received your wristband, the volunteer gate will have your name and will admit you.
You will be provided with a wristband at the last volunteer meeting. This is required to gain entrance to the airshow. It is valid all days, so if you would like to come on days other than when you volunteer, please feel free to do so. What to wear? Dress comfortably for the weather, ex. shorts, short sleeve shirts, light jacket, etc. Remember to wear sunscreen and possibly a hat. Remember that you will need to change into your volunteer t-shirt when you arrive. You may put the volunteer shirt on over other clothing. Sunglasses are handy during the day.

You will be transporting bags of ice to the vendors at the event on a golf cart. The vendors will be paying for the ice. Additionally, you will probably be carrying a water jug to provide drinking water to event staff and volunteers. The public should purchase water from one of the food vendors. Each ice cart will be provided with a radio so that we can advise you of a vendor’s request for ice. Please listen closely to your radio. If you have any questions about the radio, please ask the person in the Command Post who will be giving you the radio. Please return the radio to the Command Post at the end of your shift. It is important that you do this so that we can transfer responsibility for the radio to your relief volunteer. The Command Post will be located in the corner of this building.
